Thursday Poetry 9

A Political Mess

Millionaires’ Row
In splendid isolation
A blast of summer
Like a desert oasis
In a collective winter

Dennis Skinner’s name
For the rich who do not care
Sat across the House
He is bathing in their glare
The focus of predators

It’s a talking shop
Little people pay taxes
Which the wealthy dodge
Says Leonora Helmsley
Call for a revolution
