The point being that when we write anything is possible in the setting of our scenes. The UK does not suffer extremes of weather often but you can't say that they never occur in this 'sceptred isle'. So when writing introducing the idea of the unexpected can 'ginger up' a narrative providing the unexpected that cause characters to react and heightens the interest of the reader.
