Poetry Thursday 31 - More childhood work

Daddy Lizard

Beautiful, blonde, blue eyed bouncing baby
Brain in advance of articulation
Evolved to a scintillating lady
Paternal trademark exasperation

A Saurian sire or normal dad
Handle bestowed by the loved ancestors
Interpretation of sound - nothing bad
Full chronicle for formal registers

Affection maintains the childish label
No detriment felt over spread of time
Much loved warm glow over years enable
From such a simple utterance sublime

Listen to the mouths of babes uttering
Derive pleasure from simple stuttering

We writers use our senses as sources of inspiration at times and the last three Thursday poems that I have shared have been inspired by the sounds made by my children in different ways. As it says in this one, which is written in the form of a sonnet, - read the last 2 lines!

Did you get it? The title of the poem I published in this section yesterday 'No (Ape Calypso)' - ( ) = anagram. And today's offering without a puzzle:-

Each group is alone
Trusting is a chancy game
Fog of disbelief

KDP Select

Once again I am offering my collection of poetry 'The Musings of a Confused Mind' FREE to Kindle and Kindle app. This is for one day only Saturday 6th October. The collection is a first and includes thought provoking and educational opportunities. Some of the work is highly topical and other examples are intensely personal and I believe that there is something there for everyone to derive some stimulation from.
Please use the link below or click on the book on the side bar.
