Writing - Fathers' Day

Father's Day is a celebration honouring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Many countries celebrate it on the third Sunday of June, but it is also celebrated widely on other days. Father's Day was created to complement Mother's Day, a celebration that honours mothers and motherhood.

My Father

 1919 - 1993

He's never far away!

My daughter' father!

If you take away the 'w' from wrapper the sign over my face takes on a whole new meaning! This photo was taken in front of the Trevi Fountain in Rome this year.

Just a bit of fun! It made me laugh and my daughter is still chuckling.

Beginning from a position of weakness
His day created to balance Mothers'
Paternity leave available but not taken
Always has the remotes
Leaves the toilet seat up
Forgets birthdays and anniversaries
Uses the last of the milk and leaves empty bottles in the fridge
Snores all night long
Hogs the duvet
Watches sport on TV and sighs at soaps
Drinks beer with consequences
Hates going shopping and forgets things
Not a leg to stand on - well he's

Has a pair of broad shoulders to cry on
Hands that provide strong support
Walks the nights away nursing children
A story telling fool making listeners laugh
A sports coach who develops skills
A chauffeur to all who needs him
Protects the family unit like a lion
Works all hours that God sends
Tends the garden and runs the car
well he's a DAD!
