Poetry Thursday 105 - Emotional extremes

A couple of views of emotional extremes including another villanelle.

Unrequited Love

Will she know to return the love?
A dance at her periphery
Should one pray to God above?

Wishing as a peaceful dove
With deep affection for her beauty
Will she know to return the love?

Blithely continuing in life’s groove
Unaware of another’s expectancy
Should one pray to God above?

Is its return a wish too remove
and undeserved by such as he?
Will she know to return the love?

Or will her heart unfeeling prove
and fail to see his melancholy?
Should one pray to God above?

She’s the one whose heart must move
and so fulfil his destiny.
Will she know to return the love?
Should one pray to God above?

The Final Nail

All hope is shattered
Another chilling defeat
Winter’s failure ends
