Egg and Chicken Pie
The above came from the Durham Women's Institute Cookery Book circa 1955. What can I say about this meal? Bland hardly touches the disappointing lack of flavour of the original recipe, so why write about it?
Well for two reasons.
Firstly, the recipe was created just after the war when things were hard to come by.
Secondly, there is nothing wrong with the basic principles of the recipe and it allows for experimentation.
